Proper maintenance and maintenance of your conveyor belt can extend the life of your conveyor belt. Avoid premature belt damage, reducing personnel effort and costs.
Regular inspection and maintenance of conveyor belts

  1. Bearing point:
A:. Bearing point: It is the easily damaged part of the conveyor belt. Belt speed and material bulge in relation to conveyor operation, impact on you, and direction of bearing run are important factors.
b: Conveying material at an angle between the moving directions of the conveyor belt will only increase the wear on the conveyor belt surface. Material impingement and eccentric feeding of the belt will cause the belt to creep along the rotating idler pulley to the other side and deflect the edge damaging the belt.
c: Materials with high specific gravity and sharp edges move slowly on a fast-moving belt, which also scratches and wears down the belt surface.
d: The closer the guide groove is to the ribbon, the greater the damage to the ribbon surface.
  2. Cleaning: Special precautions must be taken to keep the surfaces of all rollers and pulleys clean, as oil stains and buildup of material on equipment can have a damaging effect on operation and on the belt itself.
  3. Rollers: All rollers must work flexibly. Wrong reel diameter selection can seriously affect the service life of the ribbon. If there are too many attachments on the pulley, it will cause the conveyor belt to drift, and the rubber cover and belt core will wear abnormally, resulting in local fatigue failure. Drive drum rubber boots improve coefficient of friction, reduce side stress, reduce belt slippage in wet conditions and prevent material buildup. Slotted rubber boots improve boot and belt cleaning and extend roller life.
  4. Upper idler and lower idler: must strictly abide by the roller management and lubrication regulations. This protects the belt and reduces stress on the belt. When inspecting the tension roller, remove any foreign matter adhering to the tension surface. Pay special attention to the lower tensioner. Attachments can sometimes cause the belt to drift and damage the edges of the belt. Idler pulleys may cause localized belt deflection. Therefore, damaged and non-rotating drums must be replaced. The amount of oil should not be too much, grease and lubricating oil leaking onto the conveyor belt will cause the non-oil resistant belt to swell and peel off. Different positions of the upper rollers and improper adjustment of the slopes and bends can cause abnormal bending fatigue of the belt, causing the back of the belt to wear and wrinkle. When the tensioner pulley winds up, it can cause the belt to float during operation and spill carryback material, which can damage the belt.
  5. Tensioning device: Check whether the tensioning device can be moved, the stroke size and the sliding condition of the guide frame are good, and the guide frame should be filled with oil regularly. Insufficient travel can cause the tensioner to drop completely. Check for sufficient tension. Excessive tension can accelerate belt fatigue, increase belt elongation on the shaft, and eventually cause the belt to cut. If the tension is too small, the belt will slip on the drive roller and the belt will bend between the support rollers, which will accelerate the wear of the belt.
  6. Conveyor belt: Check the conveyor belt regularly and deal with it in time. This is an important measure to prevent accidents and improve the service life of the conveyor belt. Conveyor Belt Inspection Bag top and bottom surfaces, belt edge and core carcass damage, and scratches on gaskets. The first thing to check is debonding, opening, delamination, opening, shifting, offset, etc. of the gasket part. Even if the damage is minor, it should be repaired as soon as possible before expansion. When the damage is large, repairs must be stopped immediately.
